Phonics and Reading Information for Parents
When the children join us in Reception they begin their learning in Phonics. At St John's we use the Little Wandle Phonics programme which has been validated by the Department for Education. The children's phonics learning and reading is based on this scheme in Reception, years 1 and 2.
Every year parents of our Reception children are invited to attend a Phonics meeting where the scheme is introduced.
